Sort through the beans and discard any broken or dark pieces and rocks. Rinse dry beans and place them in the slow cooker.
Add the rest of the ingredients into the slow cooker and stir. Cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours. Be sure not to overcook.
Turn the slow cooker off. Serve warm.
