Equipment

  • knife or food chopper
  • pizza stone or baking sheet lined with Parchment paper
  • Tablespoons and teaspoons
  • Mixing bowl
  • spray bottle

Ingredients

Cinnamon Chips

  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 6 inch flour tortillas, (4-5 tortillas)

Salsa

  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • ¼ cup frozen blackberries
  • 2 peaches, chopped
  • 2 kiwifruit, sliced and quartered
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar, optional

Instructions

  • Start by making the cinnamon chips. Go ahead and preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Using a pizza cutter, cut each tortilla into 8 triangle wedges. Place them on a baking stone or a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon and sugar. Set aside.
  • Using a small spray bottle, lightly spray the tortillas with water and then sprinkle each cut tortilla with the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned and crisp. Remove them from the oven and set aside to completely cool.
  • To make the salsa, chop the raspberries and the blackberries and put them in a small bowl. Using a food chopper or a knife, chop the peaches. Slice kiwi and cut into quarters.
  • Place the fruit in a large bowl and stir to combine. Serve immediately with the cooled cinnamon chips.

Notes

  • Don’t Overdo the Water: A quick, light mist is all you need—just 2 sprays from about a foot above. Too much water can make the chips soggy after baking.
  • Add Some Fresh Herbs: I love adding some fresh chopped basil, mint, or cilantro with this fruit salsa. The flavor combination is fantastic!
  • Serving Ideas: The cinnamon chips are delicious and pair perfectly but I also love dipping pita chips, plantain chips, or graham crackers with the fruit salsa!
  • Add Some Sugar: It's pretty tangy, so add in some sugar to cut down on some of the sour.
  • Make a Smoothie: I love adding this fruit salsa to a smoothie! It makes it super fresh and delicious!
