This deliciously smooth drink with the crispness and juicy flavors of a granny smith apple should not be limited to enjoy only in the Fall season! A Green Apple Martini is the perfect drink to sip on while enjoying time with friends or when celebrating St. Patrick's Day! Hey...it's green! Let's celebrate!
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Drizly. All opinions are entirely my own.
St. Patrick's Day is coming up on March 17th and it falls on a Friday this year! I'm not one to go out on St. Patrick's Day to celebrate though. I used to do that in my college years prior to being a mommy and a wife, but now I like to just hang out with my friends either at our house or their house and cook up a fantastic dinner and sip on a yummy drink. Typically, I'm a wine girl, but I literally have wine every single time I hang out with my friends and I'm wanting something different! Something crisp...something fresh...something bursting with flavor!
I started thinking about the different drinks I used to have when I was in college. That's when I remembered the wonderful crisp taste of a smooth Green Apple Martini! Yum! I haven't had a Green Apple Martini in years!! So yep...this was the cocktail I was going to make for St. Patrick's Day! I keep some alcohol in the house because I cook with it sometimes, but I realized I had nothing on hand to make a Green Apple Martini! I'm also super busy right now getting ready to go on vacation that I really didn't have time to run to the store and look through the shelves to buy the necessary ingredients for my tasty little martini! But then I remembered reading about Drizly!
We live in a world where if you need something immediately but don't have the time to go out and get it, you can order it online and it shows up a day or two later on your doorstep. Sometime even on the same day! I mean, look at Amazon Now for example. My mom had surgery several months back and required a certain garment for her recovery. We had no idea she needed it, but thanks to Amazon Now, I got the garment within hours. HOURS!!!
Because I'm trying to wrap up multiple things for my upcoming vacation, I wanted the ingredients for my Green Apple Martini pronto so I could check it off my list before I head out of town. I needed everything to be ready for when I get back from vacation and I didn't want to go out of my way to get what I needed. Thank goodness for Drizly! Ok, here's how it works. It's brilliant...let me just prep you for that. Drizly works with local stores so you can shop their shelves using a smartphone or computer to order beer, wine and liquor at the touch of a button. You just go to their website, enter your address so their site can list what stores they participate with in your area and you can shop online! Then that store will pack it up and deliver it to you! And those store's don't mark up the prices! Ok, I love this! How convenient!
And you seriously have to check out their site because they have hundreds....HUNDREDS of fantastic drink recipes! You're going to love their service and you're going to love their drink recipes! So yep, I got the ingredients for my Green Apple Martini and was set and ready to go!
When making a Green Apple Martini, it's important to use a smooth Vodka. And it's also really important for my readers who are gluten free to choose a gluten free vodka. Not all vodka's are gluten free, my friends. The vodka that I chose was suggested by a friend and it's made from corn and distilled six times for a clean, crisp mouth feel with a silky smooth finish. The brand of vodka you choose is vital to having a good Green Apple Martini that you can sip. Some gluten free vodka's that I recommend you try are Three Olives Vodka, Monopolowa Vodka or Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka. I really like Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka because it's super smooth and it's a fabulous sipping vodka. And it's a potato vodka....I do love a good potato vodka.
This recipe is fast and super simple to make! With St. Patrick's Day coming up, ditch the green beer and make yourself a refreshing Green Apple Martini! I mean seriously, when's the last time you had a Green Apple Martini? Switch it up a bit and enjoy this one! Oh...and please be responsible and careful if you are out drinking this St. Patrick's Day. Keep it safe and call a cab or an Uber if you need to! Be safe and Happy Drinks, my friends!
